Cutle is a daily precision puzzle where you draw one clean line through an odd shape and try to split its area into a perfect 50:50 ratio.
Here's a quick look at the game:
Think you have a good eye for symmetry? Cutle turns that confidence into a surprisingly tense challenge. One unusual shape, one straight line, and one simple question: can you divide the filled area into two perfectly equal parts?
What Is Cutle?
Cutle is a minimalist shape-cutting puzzle based on visual estimation, geometry, and precision. Instead of controlling a character or exploring a traditional game world, you face a clean board containing an irregular shape. Your job is to study its curves, corners, holes, and separate sections before drawing a single cut through it.
The ideal result is a 50:50 area ratio. However, Cutle also counts ratios of 48:52 or better as successful cuts. Once the line passes completely through the shape, the two sides separate and the game displays your estimated ratio and accuracy score.
The idea sounds easy until the shape includes a wide bulge, a narrow arm, an empty hole, or several disconnected pieces. Suddenly, finding the visual center is not enough—you need to estimate where the actual area is concentrated.
How to Play Cutle
Study the Entire Shape
Before touching the board, examine how much filled space appears on every side. Do not judge the shape only by its height or width. A long, thin section may contain less area than a short but wide section.
Choose Your Cutting Line
Imagine a straight line passing through the shape from one edge of the board to the other. You can cut vertically, horizontally, diagonally, or from almost any other angle.
A symmetrical shape may have an obvious solution, but irregular shapes require more careful planning. In Cutle, a line that looks centered can still create an uneven result.
Make the Cut
Press inside the playing area, drag your line completely across the shape, and release. The line must pass fully through the shape for the attempt to count.
Afterward, Cutle separates the pieces and calculates their approximate areas. A perfect result displays 50:50, while slightly uneven attempts may produce results such as 49:51 or 48:52.
Scores and Trophies
Cutle rewards accuracy rather than speed. Your score is based on the smaller side of the split, so the closer both sides are to equal, the higher your score becomes.
You can earn several types of trophies:
- Perfect: Achieve a precise score of
100.0%. - Gold Trophy: Display a rounded
50:50result without reaching a perfect precise score. - Silver Trophy: Finish with a
49:51or51:49ratio. - Bronze Trophy: Finish with a
48:52or52:48ratio.
Trophies and selected progress information are stored in your browser, allowing you to track how consistently you can judge different shapes.
Daily and Infinite Modes
Daily Mode
Daily mode gives everyone one featured shape to solve each day. This makes Cutle a fast daily challenge that you can compare with friends. Since your first attempt matters, take time to inspect the shape before releasing the line.
Infinite Mode
Infinite mode lets you practice with as many locally generated shapes as you like. Each shape is smooth, closed, and randomly created in your browser.
You can reset a difficult shape, adjust your approach, or select Next to continue cutting. Infinite mode is designed for relaxed practice, so its shapes, trophies, statistics, and scores are not added to your saved Daily progress.
